General

Hey there! Thank you for writing for me. I'll try to explain some of the things I love, but in the end its your writing and I'm happy to read what you come up with! You can also check out my letters from other exchanges on here, which will be relevant if you're writing dark and/or sexy content (there is one for noncon).

My fav tag is Dead Dove : Do Not Eat. I'm definitely more of a trick kinda person, but not exclusively.

I'm not much into outright "everyone having a day at the beach" fluff, but I do quite like a bit of love and intimacy in hostile environments. Holding hands on the couch? Ok. Holding hands in your dying moments on the battlefield? Yes!

I love a short bit of flowery prose just as much as something plot or dialogue driven with sparse language. Style is substance, substance is substance. Word count is just a number. The only thing I am not super fond of is excessively navelgazing introspective work.

In the frame of transformative works I fall more on the curative spectrum, meaning I often find myself thinking of scenarios that are either simply omitted in the original work or could have happened, which will be reflected in my prompts, but I'm happy reading stuff that diverges a lot from the canon, especially if you add supernatural elements or decide to go with a complete AU (I list my preferences in the likes)

Art

I don't have any specific art prompts. For the rare fandoms I am happy to see any fanart whatsoever.

As for art styles it feels silly to tell an artist how to draw, but I can say that I love medieval art and early Renaissance and then fast forward past all realism to the 20th century. Then I like the 1910s and 1920s a lot, silent films, expressionist dance, the grotesque. I'm generally fond of things being abstract, distorted, heightened and symbolic rather than realistic.

For smut I care a lot more about props (including clothing!) and poses than genitalia and I am partial to thick guys with a bit of meat and hair on them in positions of distress.

Likes

  • obscene, grotesque disgusting things described beautifully (or not)
  • noncon, dubcon
  • violence, gore
  • hurt and comfort, hurt and hurt
  • tormented saints, religious imagery
  • very bad things happening to my little mew mews
  • the breaking point, catharsis, awakenings, trauma
  • hierarchies, abuse of power, stifling environments, coded language, uniforms
  • melancholy, nostalgia
  • regret for things never said or done, feelings of life slipping through the fingers like sand, the downward spiral of time
  • romantic friendships
  • deep and meaningful platonic relationships
  • quiet moments of intimacy
  • small gestures and words with a world of meaning
  • dialogue
  • history, science, art, learning new things (you may just go off about mesopotamian pottery, medieval visions of the Apocalypse, the architecture of the American diner or the beauty of Arctic lichen)
  • pastiche, archaic language, unusual form
  • unreliable narrators, letters, diary entries, events relayed in conversation
  • 1st person (as commonly used in literature, I'm saying this specifically because I see it in so many DNWs)

Setting/Theme:

  • Southern Gothic.... A Good Man Is Hard to Find, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Stoker, Gummo, Days of Heaven.... I like the mix of the religious and the rot, implications of a seedy underbelly, memories of slavery, swamps, plantations, physical and moral decay
  • Cosmic Horror.... Lovecraft, Carpenter's Apocalypse trilogy, A Field in England, Under the Skin... I appreciate an overlap between cosmic and folk horror, aliens as gods or gods as aliens
  • Folk Horror, Witchcraft, Fae, Mythology and Mystery....Penda's Fen, The Wicker Man, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Day of Wrath, The Great God Pan.... I am especially fond of mundane kind of magic, where the line between myth and truth, magic or not, is hard to tell. Big fan of themes of transgressions interwoven with the horror, queer stories etc.
  • Space Opera, Soviet Scifi, Space Exploration, Space Horror... Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Dune, Forever War, Alien, Event Horizon, Sunshine, Stanislaw Lem, Strugazkis.... I just think space is neat. First contact, alien planets, ships lost in wormholes, things we were never meant to see or simply earth storylines but with a cool backdrop and less of the real world baggage (dropping racism and sexism for example).

Smut:

  • non-penetrative sex (oral, intercrural, handjobs, frottage etc)
  • unhygenic sex and body fluids
  • sadism and masochism
  • realistic bodies (body fat, hair, small dicks etc)
  • differences in size and body type (in particular if the bigger guy is not "topping")
  • subversions of the expected (I'm not too fond of heavily  heteronormative top/bottom dynamics)
  • unpleasant, awkward sex
  • sex as an exploration of emotions and interpersonal dynamics

Do Not Write

  • underage sex written to arouse (especially prepubescent, I might be ok with late-ish teen)
  • mundane bdsm/kink things* (formal negotiations, sex toys, diapers, daddy/mommy kink, latex outfits, roleplay, whipping in the bedroom rather than as corporal punishment on deck of the ship)
  • terminal illness* (focus on the slow deterioration and eventual death of a character)
  • cancer*
  • dementia, Alzheimer's*
  • infantilization
  • mpreg, kidfic
  • mundane modern AU (coffee shop, college, rock band etc.)
  • significant changes to canon characters such as sex, race, age or ethnicity**
  • alpha/beta/omega (and similar worldbuilding with assigned roles)

*mentions are ok
**for clarification: featuring trans, genderqueer, agender etc. characters/beings is perfectly fine I'm just in the awkward position where I neither like issue fics nor purely incidentally turning canon characters trans. Also a complete genre change AU may ofc radically change characters and make them Vulcans or whatever.

  1. The Terror
  2. Blood Meridian
  3. The 317th Platoon (1965)

  5. Flash Gordon (1980)

  7. Údolí včel | Valley of the Bees (1968)
  8. The Great Silence (1968)
  9. Crossover

The Terror

I'm waivering "terminal illness" for this one and I am open to genderbend (sex and gender) as a trope as long as it's something that doesn't cause issues (only one character bent in a world of men, world still sexist so girls need to stay at home etc).

I generally like fic which shows awareness of the historical context; especially class issues in pairings, where it is relevant. I also like fic that clearly had a lot of research poured into it.

One thing I would really enjoy here regardless of ship or character is seeing events unfold from an outsider Inuit POV, like ever increasingly mad vistas of these white men that feel like alien encounters.

Any sort of supernatural happenings at the Carnival are also up my alley, whether sinister or harmless. No, they don't need to make sense, it's carnival!

John Irving (The Terror TV 2018)
A rare possibly G friendly request here. I find observation on the Arctic and Antarctic as sublime spaces, or those where people try to find the eternal and pure, super interesting (like this essay); and these musings suit Irving's religious beliefs and interest in mathematics quite well, I think. I've been reading Umberto Eco's book on medieval aesthetics and it's a lot about the divine in the abstract perfection of mathematics and geometry, holy numbers, proportions.

Cornelius Hickey/John Irving (The Terror TV 2018)
Cornelius Hickey & John Irving (The Terror TV 2018)

Hickey as a seducer, rapist, murderer, manipulator? I personally see Hickey as some Genet protagonist, saint of the dirt, who is beyond shame and Irving is all shame and masochism and inexplicably drawn to humiliation and the things that frighten him. I suppose this could be... sweet...somehow? Coming to terms with one's humanity and carnal desires. I'm also into explorations of Irving's death whether with salacious gore or musings on him being turned angel-like. When Coil said "Death is centrifugal / Solar and logical / Decadent and symmetrical / Angels are mathematical" vs Coil's Anal Staircase. See also the Irving prompt.

Harry D. S. Goodsir (The Terror TV 2018)
I simply adore this man. Do with him what you want. I could listen to him talk about marine biology or watch him get tortured by the mutineers (I do like his strength of character to show) or see Silna sit on his face. I don't mind ace headcanons either.

Harry D. S. Goodsir/Stephen S. Stanley (The Terror TV 2018)
A subset of the above. Go ahead, Stanley, torment my boy (verbally, physically, sexually or asexually).

Cornelius Hickey/Stephen S. Stanley (The Terror TV 2018)
If Stanley for some reason subjected Hickey to medical torture, that would be enticing, wouldn't it? He's really a wall to run Hickey into. The size difference...

Thomas Jopson (The Terror TV 2018)
I love any exploration of his character, his life before the Navy, his relationship and past with Crozier, the gentleness and dignity, things that make him happy, why his first reaction to pain is to smile and why he looks so incredibly haunted. I am generally torn between laughing about Jopson being a creepy doll, a robot, the perfect eager servant, who needs to work and serve his beloved master to even function and recognizing it as the dehumanizing caricature of a classist's wet dream it's surely intended to be.

Francis Crozier & Thomas Jopson (The Terror TV 2018)
I just love their whole dynamic, the unspoken understanding and in particular Jopson's devotion, service and adoration. A bit of a Watson case. I also like this as a Schrödinger's Jopzier, where we never know if there is more between them, because we are never let in on that. If you want to hurt me draw attention to the fact that Crozier does not love Jopson as much as he is loved in return. If you want to destroy me write about Jopson's death.

Francis Crozier/Cornelius Hickey/Thomas Jopson (The Terror TV 2018)
Cornelius Hickey/Thomas Jopson (The Terror TV 2018)
Francis Crozier/Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV 2018)
Francis Crozier/Thomas Jopson (The Terror TV 2018)

Okay, hear me out. I love the dynamics between the three of them, similarities between Jopson and Hickey (class), the way they are connected to Crozier, Jopson as his confidant, Hickey trying to be in that spot but as an equal, perhaps jealous yet looking down on Jopson for his servile nature. Any exploration of this I enjoy, not necessarily a threesome in the technical sense (there can also be & instead of / here).
Some ideas:
  • Crozier, Hickey and Jopson survive. If Hickey somehow had the upper hand, he could create so much drama. Can you imagine him doing terrible things to Jopson? Or forcing Crozier and Jopson to explore the boundaries of their love?
  • Some crack: Hickey wants to "befriend" Crozier, Crozier pretends to go along with it and then humiliates him in front of or with Jopson (laughinggirls.jpg)
  • Absolutely wild: Hickey and Crozier become besties, Jopson turns to the dark side.
  • I do think Jopson being vicious to Hickey (verbally or physically) is super hot, I just struggle to disconnect myself from the "my precious boy would never" but maybe he's got good reason to snap?

Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV 2018)
I just think he's neat. I like to see his joyfully malicious POV inflicted on others. Aside from the fellas I already listed I think Tozer would be a sweet target simply because he's a big soft lad. I'm also interested in seeing Hickey subjected to pain and humiliation and to see whether he can stand above it all and remain cocky or not. As they say, I want that twink destroyed. Super crack :  Tuunbaq ship. Anything that turns his mutiny even more cult-like is appreciated, perhaps in an AU where he controls Tuunbaq (but a loss of tongue/speech would be tragic!).

Blood Meridian

Judge Holden
I adore the book and would simply love to see more of the Judge, full stop. Love that guy. Tell me about the stars or the fathers who build in stone. Also fun: more interactions between the Kid and the Judge (nasty or nice or extra nasty). Obviously there is an element of child abuse, but I don't specifically crave that. You can also put him in any other time and place. like him as a supernatural being (if not perphaps Lucifer), if that wasn't obvious. “His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

The 317th Platoon (1965)

Le sous-lieutenant Torrens/L'adjudant Willsdorf (The 317th Platoon 1965)
Le sous-lieutenant Torrens & L'adjudant Willsdorf (The 317th Platoon 1965)

I like the dynamic of an older war veteran serving under a younger, naive-ish lieutenant, showing him the ropes while bound to his command, the budding affection between them. Whether that's lighting a cigarette or something more intimate. The big guy and twink combo is especially interesting to me here with the power reversal.

L'adjudant Willsdorf (The 317th Platoon 1965)

I just find his "seen some shit, no bullshit" veteran deal interesting and would like to see more of him, his past in Russia, in Berlin (the story of his friend in particular worth exploring) or just see him tormented in the jungle, Anything playing off the Heart of Darkness vibes of the film would delight me too.

Oh yeah, this seems a given, but I'd prefer for the work not to be French Imperialist propaganda.

Journal d'un curé de campagne | Diary of a Country Priest (1951)

Priest of Ambricourt (Journal d'un curé de campagne 1951)
My poor little mew mew is so good of heart and suffers so sweetly. Hurt him or tend to him? Choices, choices! I don't really want to watch him die though. Aside from that... fever dreams, visions of Mary, conversations with the women around town, a bittersweet encounter on the road, picking wild strawberries, finding himself face down in the mud once again.

Priest of Ambricourt/Miss Louise (Journal d'un curé de campagne 1951)

If she were to tempt, mock or violate him, that would be very sad and quite hot. Confessional dirty talk anyone? I actually don't know what age she is or was supposed to be, you may age her up as you please.

Flash Gordon (1980)

Barin (Flash Gordon 1980)
I simply think he's neat, in particular when he was blindfolded and bound to a wall or fighting for his life. I am open to all sorts of cheese, crack, monster fuckery and lightheartedness here too.

Barin/Klytus (Flash Gordon 1980)
See above. I'm seeing the potential of some unpleasant torture or brainwashing here.

12th Century CE RPF

Hildegard von Bingen (12th Century CE RPF)
One of my fav historical figures, I would simply enjoy anything about her (except some kind of salacious violation). Angel encounters, visions, gardening, nuns being best friends, nuns being girlfriends.

Tancred of Galilee (12th Century CE RPF)
I recently read a bit about the Crusades (sry about the 12th century... more like 11th) and this character stood out due to his willingness and failure to save the people of Jerusalem from slaughter. Any other perspective on the events would also interest me, from terrible apocalyptic landscapes and the horrors of war to knights kissing under the desert moon.

Údolí včel | Valley of the Bees (1968)

I adore the aesthetics of this film (and František Vláčil). Christianity vs paganism, minimalism and plenty, self-denial and indulgence.. bees! The historical context is also interesting here, essentially Christian Germanic colonialism. The German/Czech relations are a heavy theme in the director's work.

Armin von Heide & Ondrej z Vlkova (Valley of the Bees 1968)
Armin von Heide/Ondrej z Vlkova (Valley of the Bees 1968)
The poor repressed Teutonic knight only wanted a friend to hold hands with while he freezes his genitals off. I like their relationship when it is tender and when it goes south and I weep for Armin.

Armin von Heide (Valley of the Bees 1968)
Anything about Armin alone would also interest me from a character study, a slice of life to getting lost in the haunted pagan woods. Oh no, not the bees.

The Great Silence (1968)

Loco/Silence (The Great Silence 1968)
I like a blood on the snow Western, the devestating climax (symbolic castration?!), the heavy political allegory, the vulnerable hero. I failed to request the character of Silence outside of a ship context, but I wouldn't mind reading about him solo either. Personally I am very simple-mindedly interested in seeing the working class martyr receive a bad time at Loco's hands, but I will eat up anything for this film.

Crossover

Here comes the crack. I've used the ship tags (/ and &) to indicate encounters, not necessarily sexual nor am I expecting deep friendships.

Henry Drax (The North Water) & Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV)
Henry Drax (The North Water)/Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV)
Henry Drax (The North Water) & Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)
Henry Drax (The North Water)/Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)
Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV) & Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)
Cornelius Hickey (The Terror TV)/Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)

I just saw the similarities (and differences) in character and setting and thought it would be fun if they met. The time frame is the same, Hickey and Drax are already in the same area and I trust that the Judge can travel far. It also doesn't need to make sense whatsoever. I couldn't stand them seriously discussing their outlooks on human nature without going insane, but I would like to see the encounter(s) and conversations from rated G to E - and I don't mind if Drax gets destroyed in the process, physically or verbally.

Raoul Duke (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)/Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)
Raoul Duke (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) & Judge Holden (Blood Meridian)

This occured to me very randomly when I read Blood Meridian fanfic on ao3... Okay war is eternal etc, the Judge hitches a ride in the desert and meets someone familiar.
